Mustafaa Carroll - Interim Executive Director

Carroll, a seasoned advocate for civil rights, brings a wealth of experience, having served as the executive director of CAIR-Houston for a decade. His dedicated involvement in civil rights work spans numerous decades, including his service on the board of the Gary, Indiana NAACP chapter at the tender age of 14. Mustafaa Carroll's leadership is paramount, and his experience will be an invaluable asset to our community. His commitment to justice and advocacy for the marginalized is unwavering.

Shaimaa Zayan-Community Relation Coordinator

Shaimaa Zayan is proud to be the Community Relations Coordinator with CAIR-Texas Austin &DFW. She holds a Masters degree in Special Education and Cultural/Linguistic Diversity from UT Austin. Shaimaa has an initiative personality and an eagerness to learn, facilitate, communicate, and empower others. She is looking forward to building bridges with Austin Muslims and Non-Muslims organizations to work together on common goals. If she is not working, Shaimaa enjoys the beautiful nature of Austin, learns about healthy lifestyles and wellness, or cook delicious Mediterranean food for her family.

Amna Siddiqui

Amna Siddiqui is a sophomore at Austin Peace Academy and a journalism intern here at CAIR. Some of her main interests include writing and civil advocacy, which is why she joined CAIR TX internship program. Amna's main goal is to uplift the Muslim community here in DFW/Austin and she hopes to accomplish that by writing articles to bring awareness to specific issues, advertise CAIR events, ... etc.

Sheza Asif

Sheza Asif is a rising sophomore at Brighter Horizons Academy. She is proud to be an intern with CAIR-TX and is currently working on creating videos, graphic design, and other projects. Sheza originally joined CAIR-TX because of their amazing work to help the Muslim community. She looks forward to learning and growing more as an individual Muslim. As a YMLC board president, she is also passionate about bringing the youth together through various fun and educational events. During her free time, Sheza enjoys reading all types of books and painting. 

Sarah Adi

Sarah Adi is a10th grade student attending Brighter Horizons Academy. Her hobby is to read because it fills her void of curiosity. She joined the CAIR-TX interns as a journalism intern to help provide public benefit as CAIR-TX protects the rights of the Muslim minority. She hopes to accomplish the skills of leadership and communication to change the misrepresentation of Muslims in the West.

Zuhayr Khondker

Zuhayr Khondker is a sophomore at Connally High School and a Graphic Design/Social Media intern at CAIR-TX. He originally joined in order to help CAIR-TX team network & convey information to broader audiences through the power of visual and creative designs. Zuhair is incredibly grateful to be in a position where he can reach out to the Muslim community. 

Aish Haq

Aish Haq is a sophomore at Brighter Horizons Academy. Some of her hobbies are reading, baking, painting, and traveling. Aish is the graphic design intern for CAIR-TX, you may have seen some of the posts she has created on the CAIR DFW or Austin pages. Aish's journey with CAIR-TX started when she attended the first fall semester of LLAP. Soon after, she became the president of YMLC West Plano. She continued on with the LLAP spring semester. Last summer Aish went on the youth D.C. Trip, and when she came back she got this internship. Aish loves graphic design, and doing it for an organization like CAIR-TX makes it even better! She is grateful for everything she has learned from CAIR-TX, the amazing individuals she has met, and the memories she has made so far!
